basis of our reasearch is the development of new chemical reactions
aiming at a faster and more cost-effective synthesis of various
bioactive compounds. We work, for example, on improved derivatives of
the anti-malarial tebuquin 1 and on new
approaches to the pesticide boscalid 2. |

The alkaloid cohirsin 3 which can be extracted from Cocculus hirsutus, domiciled in India and Pakistan, acts as template for novel pharmaceuticals. Radioactive labeled stilbene 4 can be used to identify Alzheimer's disease already at an early stage. |
